Overview
Natore is a district in the northwestern part of Bangladesh. It is bordered by the districts of Rajshahi to the north, Pabna to the east, Kushtia to the south, and Meherpur to the west. The district has an area of 4,009.59 square kilometres (1,548.11 square miles) and a population of 1,706,982 (2011). The district is home to the Rajshahi University, one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Bangladesh. Natore is also known for its mangoes, which are considered to be some of the best in the country.
