The fort is regarded as the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the legendary Rajput warrior who fought against the Mughals. Chittorgarh is a city in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, India. It is the administrative headquarters of the district and was formerly the capital of Mewar Kingdom. The city is located on the banks of the Berach River and is surrounded by a wall with seven gates. Chittorgarh Fort is one of the largest forts in India and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
