Our Lady of Fatima Shrine to Champaign

The Our Lady of Fatima Shrine is a Roman Catholic shrine located in the city of Champaign, Illinois. The shrine was founded in 1954 by the Rev. Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., who was inspired by the Marian apparitions that occurred in Fátima, Portugal, in 1917.

The shrine is a popular pilgrimage destination for Catholics from all over the world. It features a replica of the grotto where the Virgin Mary appeared to the three shepherd children in Fátima, as well as a number of other religious artifacts and exhibits.

The shrine is also home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, which was designated as a national shrine by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2002.
