Polykastro is a town and a former municipality in Kilkis regional unit, Central Macedonia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Paionia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 174.959 km2. The town of Polykastro is situated on the left bank of the Axios river, 21 km north of Kilkis, 60 km north of Thessaloniki, and 45 km west of Serres.
