Rindal is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rindal. Rindal was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The old municipality of Orkdal was divided into Ørkedal and Rindal. The municipality of Rindal is surrounded by the municipalities of Heim to the north, Orkland to the east, Orkland to the south, and Hustadvika to the west.
